Company, when you want it
Say what you are up for, when you are free and roughly where you are. If enough people nearby are on the same beat, CommonBeat links you into a small group with a text chat. What happens after that is up to the group.
Not a dating app
- There are no profiles to browse. You never see a list of people.
- There are no photos. Other members see your first name, not your face.
- There is no swiping, and no way to ask for a particular person.
- Every group is at least three people. CommonBeat never links two people alone.
- Asking somebody out through this is the one thing that ends an account on the first report.
Gender is asked once, kept private, never shown to anybody and never used to match. The women-only rooms it exists for are not part of this version.
How it works
- Put a beat out. A window you are free in, roughly where you are, and the kind of thing you feel like doing. It takes about ten seconds.
- Get linked into a group. When enough people nearby are free at the same time for something similar, CommonBeat puts you in a small group of at least three. You do not choose them and they do not choose you.
- Say hello in the chat. The group gets a text chat. Other members see your first name. There are no photos, and no way to send one.
- The rest is yours. CommonBeat stops at the chat. It does not arrange meetings, pick places or host anything. If the group decides to meet, that is the group's own plan.

One neighbourhood at a time, and the first one is not open yet. Leave an address and we will write once, when it is.
